Q. How do I make a reservation?
A. If you’d like to book, you will need to make a deposit of 60% of the rent.

When you check in you’ll need to pay the rent difference and leave a breakage deposit of 250Rs (or 100US$ or EUR as you prefer, many people leaving directly for the airport prefer not to have so much local cash), that you’ll get back when you check out if the apartment is in order.

Q. How do I get from the airport to the apartment?
A. You may arrange for a transfer with us or take a bus or taxi from the airport. When you arrive in Salvador, you can take the executive bus at the arrivals exit (2$ or 2 EUR). It will drop you off at less than 50 meters from the building entrance. It’s a special bus from the airport with AC and has few stops. We will wait for you at the lobby one hour after the scheduled arrival time of your flight (bus takes approx 40 minutes).

Q. Where can I find information about Bahia, Salvador, and Barra?
A. As usual, the Lonely Planet - Brazil is a good source of information. However, LP online is quite limited.
You will be able to find more specifics online at Rough Guides - Salvador with best restaurants, beaches, places to hang out, schools, etc. For those who want to read in French go for Le Guide du Routard - Brésil                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            back to summary
Q. Where can I get information about the carnival?
A. There are many sources of information about the carnaval but most are linked to publicity. The best sources of independent information are Central do Carnaval, and Carnasite - Agenda of events. The post details about the forthcoming carnaval as early as a year in advance, so you can plan early...Another site we like is Bahia Online - Everything you need to know.
                                                                                                                                      back to summary
Q. Are there any low cost domestic flights in Brazil?
A. In the last couple of years some low cost airlines have started operating in Brazil. Their business model is like Ryan Air, Easy Jet and the like; that is the sooner you book the cheaper it gets. Prices are erratic, good deals abound, but the best deal is usually to fly your ticket from home all the way to Salvador. Also with delays in Brazilian airports, unless your connection is part of the same ticket you have no right to a refund.
Have a look at GOL - Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, TAM Airlines, Ocean Air and recently Azul (flying to Capinas, keep in mind you need at least 4 hours to transfer to Guarulhos plus 120Rs for a taxi from Villalobos).                                                                                                                                                       back to summary
Q. Where can I find some local guides to help to prepare my trip?
A. In Bahia like anywhere else we have our Tourism Office Salvador - Entursa where you can find practical information about everything we have to offer, Bahia Land of Happiness is also a good one.
For information about Brazil check Tourism National Institute - Embratur
